What is black ginger?
Black ginger is a genus of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). This genus was first described by MFNewman in Vietnam in 1995. By 2007, Distichochlamys can be considered an endemic genus of Vietnam, including 3 species, discovered from 1995 to 2003 in this country. Distichochlamys is closely related to the genus Scaphochlamys. The official name in Vietnamese is currently unavailable.
